Open Reception April 10th, 2010

Several years ago I started painting Madrona trees, in the Magnolia area. I painted roughly a hundred oil paintings of these exotic trees. Most of the paintings were done on location along Magnolia Boulevard and in Discovery Park. While painting I was conscripted into the volunteer group, Save Magnolia's Madronas, so my connection with the trees has gone beyond just painting them. I have recently revisited this theme. This group of paintings contains work from various stages of painting the Madrona tree.
