Artist Statement:
I discovered my creativity late in life. In my early twenties I began experimenting with many different mediums of creativity including: sewing, painting, sculpture and jewelry making. In my late twenties I was blessed to have learned about creating art with paper. I began experimenting with it and found it to be extremely fulfilling to work with. I have had a very difficult life and creating has been a way for me to overcome emotional obstacles and begin to discover myself. I don’t have anything fancy to say about my thought process when creating or what ideas or emotions I hope to bring across with my art. I simply put out what feels right at the moment. The things
that inspire me to create are: pain, struggle, hardship, nature, color and emotion.
